Disappointed
I'll keep this short and sweet. This was a great mower until the lever/handle broke. Black and Decker did not make good on their warranty. The best they could do for me was send me to a "service center" over 20 miles away that doesn't have evening or weekend hours. After all that, it turns out this "service center" doesn't even repair electric mowers. Thankfully Lowes, where I purchased it, did the right thing and let me exchange it for a new one.

Much quieter and easier than a gas mower
This mower is just as light and easy to push as the corded version, and the charge lasts long enough to complete our front and back yards (which are small). Also, I love how much easier to start and quieter it is than a gasoline motor. I've had it a year, and no problems so far!

Great Mower except it doesn't turn on or run
I purchased this item after being frustrated by the sound of neighborhood gas mowers blaring all weekend. I received the item on Friday, unpackaged it and charged the battery over night. Saturday morning, I was out mowing like a demon with zero emissions and a relatively quiet experience; it was great. On Sunday morning still bubbling with enthusiasm I thought I would mow the patch of lawn on my side yard, so I busted the Black & Decker out, popped in the plastic ignition key and...nothing. I recharged it, re-referenced the manual, followed the trouble shooting guide...and still nothing! It was a great mower for one day and about 30 minutes. After that, what an extremely frustrating experience. Thankfully it is still under warranty and I've already processed my Amazon return. I was skeptical about buying a cordless and now I am super skeptical about actually getting a cordless mower that works for more than a month. Really disappointing. I've had other black & decker power tools and have always been a little underwhelmed by the batteries. I was hoping that technology had improved enough for them to put together a decent cordless mower but it does not appear that the time has arrived quite yet. Bust!

Not an improvement over the CMM1000
I had a CMM1000 and loved it. It finally died and I bought the new CMM1200. It was immediately evident that it was more cheaply built and designed. Things started to break one by one until I had to hot wire the charge/start wiring harness. I finally gave up and took it to the dump. It's really too bad. I used the CMM1000 for years and went through two batteries. I'm going to try another brand.

A good low-maintenance mower
I didn't want to hassle with buying gas, tuning up an engine, worrying about spark plugs, etc., so this seemed like a good option. After using it for a whole year, I'm happy with the purchase. As other reviewers have noted, the safety switch handle in the original design is quite flimsy... and though I worry it'll snap off one day, so far it hasn't given me any difficulty.

It's not super powerful, but works well in my small yard. I never go more than a week and half between mows, and once it died in tall grass. I just started it back up and slowly pushed it through the tall areas and it was fine. It'll die in normal length wet grass, so I have to make sure it's totally dry.

I keep the mower plugged in all the time (including through winter), and haven't run into any battery issues yet. If you buy this mower, you need to make sure the battery holds a full charge through winter if it gets below freezing. If you just store it in an outside shed (not plugged in), you can destroy the battery.

It's built cheaply (mostly plastic), so you have to be careful with it. That said, all in all, it's a good mower and I'd buy it again.
